Biography

Hey, I’m Neel!

I’m a new grad software engineer at Databricks in San Francisco, CA.

Previously, at UMich, I enjoyed some advanced coursework focused on distributed systems, compilers, and machine learning, held a short research stint in deep learning based image reconstruction, was the head of projects for a technical consulting organization, led a video game reinforcement learning project for Michigan Data Science Team, and spent my summers interning at large and small tech companies.

Personally, I can solve a Rubik’s cube in about 10 seconds, enjoy an occasional New York Times Crossword puzzle, and like to stay active.

Generally, when a node in a cluster goes down, its storage fails. However, that assumptions fails when storage is decoupled from compute such as on Azure. Helped implement a feature to retain a node’s storage on compute failure on Qumulo’s distributed file system on Azure.
